Vegan Spicy Chickpea Flour Wraps Googies Kitchen Life

Rule of Thumb: 1 egg = ¼ cup chickpea flour + ¼ cup water. Gluten-Free Rolled Oats. Due to the natural starches found in oats, once water is added, oats create a binding effect that helps with these wraps. They are an abundant source of complex carbohydrates and water-soluble fiber (produces a feeling of satiety), as well as group B vitamins.

Preheat stove-top griddle/pan to medium/high heat. Add chickpeas to a food processor, and process until very grainy. Step 1: Simply combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until you achieve a smooth batter. Use 1 cup of water for thicker/smaller tortillas. Alternatively, 1 1/8 cup water for thinner/large tortillas. I even used more than 1 ¼ cup water for very thin wraps with perfect results.

Whisk chickpea flour, tapioca flour, and a pinch of salt in a medium-sized bowl. Add water and whisk until a smooth batter forms. Pour batter using a ¼ measuring cup into a pan preheated to medium heat. Quickly pick up the pan and swirl the batter into a circle, spreading it as thin as possible.

Combine the chickpea flour, water, egg, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix together. Allow the batter to thicken up by letting it sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Over medium heat, add some oil to a skillet. Measure ¼ cup of batter and pour in. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then flip and cook for another couple of minutes.


How to Make Chickpea Flour

Add the chickpea flour, cold water, salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano to a mixing bowl. Use a whisk to mix well until it has the consistency of a thin batter. Hand method. In a large mixing bowl, sift the chickpea flour, arrowroot flour, and salt. Sifting flour removes the lumps of the chickpea flour and makes your batter smoother if you don't have a blender. Then stir in liquid and whisk until smooth. The batter should be a bit thinner than a pancake batter.

Oven: Wrap 4-5 tortillas in aluminum foil and heat in oven preheated to 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Stove: Reheat one tortilla at a time in a skillet over medium heat. There's no need to add any oil to the skillet, but you could add a little avocado or olive oil, if desired.

Pour a couple of tbsp of oil into a small bowl and set aside. Heat a large non-stick large frying pan over medium heat. Combine the chickpea flour, water and spices, if using, into a bowl and whisk very well. Add a few drops of oil into the pan and coat the pan. Wipe off the baking sheet for the croutons. Place 4 (10 to 12-inch) flour tortillas in a single layer on the baking sheet (they can overlap slightly if needed).
